The Role: What You’ll Do
As a Pet Care Assistant, you are the backbone of our hospital’s daily operations. You ensure our patients are safe and comfortable and that our facility remains a clean, welcoming environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Patient Handling: Safely and gently restraining dogs and cats for exams, blood draws, and procedures.
- Kennel Management: Cleaning and sanitizing patient enclosures to maintain the highest standards of hygiene.
- Patient Comfort: Feeding patients according to specific dietary needs and ensuring they have fresh water at all times.
- Exercise & Enrichment: Taking canine patients for walks and providing a little extra TLC to those staying with us.
- Hospital Maintenance: General cleaning of the facility, including sweeping, mopping, and organizing supplies to keep our workflow smooth.
- Team Support: Assisting our Technicians and Veterinarians with various tasks as needed—no two days are the same!
Who You Are
- Animal-First Mindset: You have a genuine love for animals and a high level of empathy.
- Physical Stamina: You’re comfortable being on your feet, lifting up to 40 lbs, and handling active (and sometimes nervous) pets.
- Reliable & Proactive: You show up on time and look for ways to help before being asked.
- Communicator: You work well within a team and aren't afraid to ask questions to ensure patient safety.
