Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical systems to identify faults efficiently.
- Repair and service plumbing components related to HVAC systems and ensure proper operation of refrigerant lines and ammonia refrigeration units where applicable.
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and mechanical skills to repair or replace mechanical systems and components.
- Diagnose complex issues involving electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, or mechanical failures with precision.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for quality assurance and compliance purposes.
- Engage with customers professionally to explain repairs or installations clearly while ensuring their needs are met with exceptional service.
Experience
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician / installer required
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical diagnostics, plumbing systems, and refrigeration technology.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing equipment troubleshooting, mechanical systems repair, boiler operation, and appliance repair.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, welding techniques, and other diagnostic equipment necessary for field service work.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or ammonia refrigeration are advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills combined with a proactive approach to property maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
Pay: $23.00 - $43.00 per hour
