Position Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for daily accounting and financial management functions.

SCHEDULE AND PAY

This is a full-time (40 hour) position. Monday – Friday 8AM - 5PM.

The pay varies on experience and ranges from $26-29/hour

DUTIES

• Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts
• Completes recurring monthly journal entries accurately
• Allocates and enters annual budget into GL system
• Reconcile grant budget spending on a monthly basis
• Conducts bank reconciliation on a monthly basis, including credit card activity
• Submits uncashed checks to unclaimed property
• Completes accurate deposit entry on a daily basis
• Completes accurate payroll entry on a bi-weekly basis
• Processes 401K payments within 3 days of pay date
• Assists with general accounting, financial and statistical reporting.
• Assists with month-end close reporting
• Assists with preparation of the annual tax and cost reports
• Assists in providing required information to independent and governmental auditors
• Submits quarterly Medicaid wrap reports in a timely manner
• Files annual 1099s by January 31st
• Assists with Account Payable tasks
• Reviews accounts payable coding entries
• Properly codes fixed asset purchases
• Properly codes grant expenditures
• Serves as backup for accounts payable entries
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Possesses a Bachelor's Degree with a specialization in Accounting
• Proficient Microsoft Excel knowledge to analyze data, including the use of formulas, functions, lookup tables and other standard spreadsheet elements.
• Maintains current knowledge of accounts payable standards and practices.
• Must have an understanding of HIPAA guidelines to protect patient/employee rights and maintain confidentiality.
