What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher - Licensed 2025/26 position at ALL BUILDINGS?
Philomath School District is accepting applications for Licensed Substitute Teachers to expand our licensed substitute pool for all grade levels in the district. Substitute positions are considered on-call positions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Oregon Teaching License
- Bachelor's Degree
- Criminal history clearance
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaches district approved curriculum.
- Prepares for classes assigned.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship with fellow staff members, students and parents.
- Adheres to and enforces district, state and federal laws, policies, procedures and regulations.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Responds in a cooperative and positive manner to supervision.
- Assumes responsibility for assigned non-teaching duties.
Current pay rates for 2024/2025 school year: (RATES for 2025/26 TBD)
1/2 day (4 hours or less): $105.96
Full day (More than 4 hours): $211.92
10 consecutive days or more (Full day): $233.20

Once all new hire documentation is approved and SafeSchools modules are complete, substitutes will be added to our active substitute roster. Substitutes are managed through the RedRover online substitute management application.
