Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks as necessary.
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Utilize airless paint spraying techniques for efficient application on larger surfaces.
- Estimate materials needed for projects and manage inventory effectively.
- Perform plastering and caulking to ensure smooth finishes on walls and fixtures.
- Execute restoration projects that may include renovation and remodeling tasks.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, including power tools and hand tools.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working in various environments including residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial sites.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential and commercial painting; industrial painting and home repairs experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices including carpentry, masonry, concrete finishing, and trim carpentry.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and basic math skills for accurate measurements.
- Experience with fixture installation and maintenance tasks is beneficial.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Previous maintenance person experience is advantageous for performing related tasks as needed.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
