Job Title: Commercial Roofing Estimator

Job Description:

All Area Roofing & Construction is seeking a highly organized and experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for estimating commercial roofing Projects, including field take offs, budgeting and change orders. You will work closely with internal and external staff and stakeholders - Clients, General Contractor's, Architects, Sub-Contractors, Property Managers and Homeowner Associations (HOAs) to ensure efficient, accurate and high-quality estimates are prepared. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining business relationships to drive growth and manage business operations effectively.

Job Functions:

• Estimate job costs and submit proposals for review.
• Create/ request Show Drawings; Write submittal letters.
• Obtain Product Data Sheets, Samples, etc.
• Utilize bid log to track own bids and total bids closed
• Ensure processes are followed from pre-bid until handoff meeting
• Draft proposals to General Contractors, private clients, and other customers
• Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
• Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
• Additional responsibilities as assigned
• Field customer requests and questions pre job
• Cooperate with Project Management, Service, and Office Departments
• Assist in budget development for operations
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• 5 years of Commercial roofing estimating experience. (Metal, Shingles, Single Ply systems)
• 3 years Project Management experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of all types of roofing codes and applications, including Florida building code requirements
• Proficient knowledge of: TPO, Torch Down, PVC, Modified Bitumen, Built Up Systems
• Familiarity with CAD and Bluebeam Software
• Advanced Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet program skills and strong analytical abilities
• Strong analytical, communications and negotiation skills
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with associates
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
• Knowledge and understanding of business and management principles
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to climb roofs and visit active job sites

Physical Demands:

• While carrying out the responsibilities of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and listen.
• Occasionally, the employee may need to stand or walk.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• This role requires specific vision abilities, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
