Role Summary
Key responsibilities include:
- Fit, fabricate, and weld aluminum components from drawings and specifications
- Prepare, stage, and assemble materials; perform clean welds in multiple positions
- Maintain organized work areas and follow safe work practices throughout production
Required qualifications/skills:
- Successfully pass the required AAM weld skills test, including a pre-employment MIG test in 2G, 3G, and 4G
- Ability to follow directions, work independently, and collaborate in a team setting

On the Shop Floor
Your day starts with a brief check-in with the weld/fab supervisor or leads to review assigned drawings and priorities. You’ll map out the work sequence, confirm measurements, and stage the right tools and materials before setting up your station. As the shift moves forward, you’ll track progress against the build plan, coordinate timing with nearby trades, and keep documentation current by completing timecards daily. The schedule is typically four 10-hour shifts (Monday–Thursday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm), with overtime when production timelines require it. You’ll also work comfortably in active shop conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs, navigating steps, and occasionally working at heights or in confined spaces.
