Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Private Investigator (C License Mandatory) to conduct insurance fraud defense investigations across the Sarasota/Bradenton and South Florida markets. This role requires a high level of professionalism, discreet surveillance execution, accurate documentation, and the ability to travel as needed.
This position is ideal for a seasoned investigator who can operate independently, manage time effectively, and produce court-ready, detail-rich investigative reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct surveillance operations in support of insurance fraud defense matters.
- Perform stakeouts, visual monitoring, and incident observation with a high degree of discretion.
- Capture and organize high-quality video and photographic evidence using provided/approved equipment.
- Maintain clear, detailed logs reflecting activity, locations, times, durations, and observations.
- Produce comprehensive written investigative reports suitable for legal review.
- Coordinate efficiently with the case team regarding updates, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure proper chain-of-custody practices and evidence handling standards (as applicable).
- Work weekends and accommodate case-driven schedules.
- Maintain professional conduct and strict compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
Required Qualifications
- Active Private Investigator License (C License Mandatory).
- Proven experience performing insurance-related surveillance and/or fraud defense investigations.
- Fluent in surveillance operations (advanced tracking, observation, and documentation).
- Ability to travel. Hiring in Sarasota / Bradenton / Miami / Ft. Lauderdale.
- Dependable surveillance capability including:
- Dependable surveillance vehicle with tint
- Laptop for report writing and case documentation
- HD camera and ability to maintain reliable recording output
- Covert camera capability (within legal and policy requirements)
- Ability to write detailed, accurate reports with strong attention to timelines and facts.
- Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Weekends required (including potential early mornings/evenings based on assignments).
Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory)
- Prior experience working with insurance carriers, attorneys, SIU units, or defense counsel.
- Familiarity with investigative reporting standards used in civil litigation.
- Strong knowledge of documentation best practices for evidentiary reliability.
