Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This position involves extensive travel between sites and provides opportunities for advancement. The ideal candidate will specialize in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing commercial trucks, and/or heavy equipment and their related systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety, and must be willing to adapt and learn new things. Each technician is provided a truck which can be taken home, and it is the technician's responsibility to ensure it stays professional and compliant.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers to ensure optimal operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, and electrical systems.
- Repair and maintain hydraulic systems used in heavy machinery.
- Conduct repairs on truck components including engines, transmissions, and air brake systems.
- Utilize schematics to accurately identify problems and implement effective solutions.
- Perform welding tasks as needed for equipment repair or modification.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and comply with industry regulations.
- Document all work and potential follow-ups.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic with a strong understanding of diesel engine repair
- Hands-on experience with truck repair, trailer repair, and truck maintenance.
- Skilled in diagnosing issues related to hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmissions.
- Knowledge of schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical problems.
- Ability to perform welding and other fabrication tasks as necessary.
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to heavy equipment repair is preferred.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
