What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician position at ALL AMERICAN FACILITY MAINTENANCE?
Summary/Objective:
The Electrical Technician assumes a high level of responsibility early, supporting our field teams in their delivery of client services. Successful Electrical Technicians are fast learners and self-motivated, independent workers. They must have the ability to work under pressure and the willingness to work in varying conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Assists department in various tasks and or assignments
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be able to pass drug test(s) as required by company
- Lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl spaces.
- Ability to observe all company procedures and safety rules
- Work as part of our team to ensure customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
- Must have your own tools and be a self-starter and be able to work on your own
- Need a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Must be on punctual and reliable
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
Additional Skills Desired:
- Journeyman license preferred but not required.
- Successful completion of a trade/vocational school is preferred but not required.
