Job Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the general supervision of a Radiologist or physician. This role operates in both ambulatory and hospital environments, producing high-quality imaging to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury, in accordance with established clinical protocols and departmental procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures (e.g., abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, musculoskeletal, and breast) as ordered by a physician or licensed provider.
• Operate ultrasound equipment and related systems with accuracy and safety.
• Ensure patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality throughout the exam.
• Review and evaluate images for quality, completeness, and diagnostic value.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures performed and patient data.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists and physicians regarding results or issues.
• Maintain equipment and report malfunctions or need for repairs.
• Comply with all infection control, safety, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
  
  

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  
  

Experience

• Less than 1 year of experience required.
  
  

Required Certification/License/Registration

Must hold one of the following certifications:

• ARDMS (OB/GYN, AB, BR, MSK, RVT)
• ARRT (S or BS)
• CCI (RVS)
  
  

And

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not current).
