Charter Captain

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and responsible Charter Captain to lead and operate passenger vessels safely and efficiently. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for guests, ensuring a memorable and secure experience while adhering to all transportation safety regulations. Your expertise in vessel operation, customer service, and safety protocols will drive the success of our charter services. Duties

• Safely operate passenger vessels, including motor yachts and other watercraft, following all applicable maritime laws and safety standards.
• Conduct thorough pre-departure vessel inspections to ensure seaworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
• Navigate city waterways and open waters efficiently, utilizing GPS and other navigation tools to reach destinations accurately.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, disembarking, and onboard needs, including special assistance for passengers with disabilities or medical requirements.
• Communicate effectively with crew members using two-way radios to coordinate operations and respond promptly to any issues or emergencies.
• Maintain detailed logs of vessel operations, safety checks, maintenance activities, and passenger counts.
• Ensure adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT), Coast Guard, and local transportation safety regulations at all times.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, and vessel maintenance procedures.
• Proven experience operating various watercraft types such as motor yachts or similar vessels in a charter setting.
• Knowledge of traffic laws applicable to maritime navigation as well as city street navigation when transporting passengers on land.
• Skilled in conducting vehicle inspections and performing routine maintenance tasks on vessels.
• Defensive driving skills applicable to both land-based shuttle driving and boat operation under adverse weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with passengers, crew members, and emergency responders via two-way radios or other communication devices.
• Familiarity with passenger safety protocols, including passenger assistance techniques for individuals with special needs.
• Ability to navigate in challenging weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
• Experience with delivery driving or chauffeur services such as limousine or driver roles is advantageous.

Pay: $25.16 - $30.30 per hour
