QA/QC Technician
JOB SUMMARY
The QA/QC Technician is a production professional responsible for fulfilling day to day quality functions in a manufacturing environment. Duties include (but are not limited to) conducting regular and irregular inspections relevant to production quality, health & safety, and environmental sustainability.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
A QA/QC Technician will be responsible for maintaining quality assurance processes, evaluation and testing of products, recording of results gathered, and reporting results as they are realized.
Other duties include:
- Performing and/or ensuring quality control inspections are conducted throughout the production process.
- Performs spot audits as needed.
- Performs special inspections and projects as needed.
- Monitors the quality of raw materials.
- Reports quality, safety, and environmental issues to the Quality Manager in a timely manner.
- Inspects materials, parts, and products at different stages of production
- Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes
- Participates in quality, environmental sustainability, and health & safety root cause investigations.
- Works with production to identify and resolve quality issues
- Manages housekeeping to ensure a safe workplace
- Serves as a champion for foundational quality and lean principles (5S, ISO, Kaizen…)
- Other tasks as needed
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- OSHA General Industry training preferred (OSHA 10 hour/30-hour etc).
EXPERIENCE
- 1-3 years’ experience working in an Inspection or Quality related role
- Manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Experience in the manufacturing, construction, and/or building materials industry preferred
- Experience as a manufacturing assembler, construction worker, equipment operator, forklift operator, skilled laborer, or general laborer is preferred
LANGUAGES
- Fluent in English
- Spanish competence preferred
SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
- Attention to detail is a must!!!
- Manufacturing, construction, quality control experience is highly desired
- Ability to interpret shop drawings and job specifications
- Proficient Computer Skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- OSHA General Industry a plus
- Familiar with ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 preferred
- Solid math aptitude
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
