Location: Pascagoula, MS
Position: Shipfitter
Schedule: Full-Time | Overtime Available
We are currently hiring experienced Shipfitters for shipyard opportunities in Pascagoula, MS. Candidates must have previous shipyard experience and be comfortable performing structural layout, fabrication, fit-up, alignment, cutting, and tacking in an active shipyard environment.

1st Class Travel Shipfitter

$38.00/hour
*
$180/day Per Diem for eligible travelers
*
4 years of shipfitting experience required
*
Hands-on shipfitter test required
*
Hair follicle drug screen
*
10-year background check
*
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
*
Per diem eligibility/documentation required
Local Shipfitter
*
$31.00/hour
*
Approximately 70 hours per week
*
No per diem
*
No background check
*
Drug test required
*
Previous shipyard/shipfitting experience required
Job Responsibilities
*
Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications
*
Perform structural layout, measuring, fitting, and alignment
*
Fit plates, bulkheads, frames, brackets, angles, and other structural components
*
Tack structural components into position
*
Use cutting torches, grinders, and other shipfitting tools
*
Perform burning, cutting, grinding, and material preparation
*
Use jacks, come-alongs, wedges, dogs, and other fitting equipment
*
Verify measurements and alignment before welding
*
Work safely in confined spaces, elevated areas, and other shipyard environments
*
Follow all shipyard safety procedures and PPE requirements
Qualifications
*
Previous professional shipfitting/structural fitting experience
*
Strong layout, fit-up, measuring, and tacking skills
*
Ability to read blueprints and structural drawings
*
Experience using torches, grinders, hand tools, and power tools
*
Ability to work overtime and in a physically demanding shipyard environment
*
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
