What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Sales / Customer Service Associate position at All About Dogs and Cats?
PLEASE NOTE:
- This job is up to 35 hours per week
- There are two shifts: 9am to 4pm & 12noon to 7pm that rotate weekly.
- Shifts include Saturdays & Sundays
- Must be 18 years old or older to be considered.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Working at All About Dogs & Cats, Southwest Missouri's Award-Winning Pet Supply Store, is unlike working anywhere else. REQUIRED SKILLS…
- MUST be 18 years old or older
- MUST be “Outgoing” and a “People Person”
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Operate a POS (point of sale) system efficiently for transactions including cash handling and credit card processing.
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising, stocking and cleaning.
- Willing to conduct product demos to showcase a product’s features & benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS…
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Strong communication skills are highly valued for connecting with and impressing customers.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive interactions both in person and over the phone
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
