What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private School RBT - PART TIME position at All About Behavior?
At All About Behavior, we don’t just provide ABA services — we develop professionals, transform lives, and do it all with heart.
We’re looking for an engaged, energetic, and committed Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for a specific part-time role. If you love working with children and want to make a difference in the life of a child and their family in a school setting, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
If you're new to this work, we provide training to help you earn a nationally recognized certification as a Registered Behavior Technician. Whether you're already certified or just starting out, this is a place where your work will be respected and your growth will be supported.
Position Overview: School-Based RBT
This is a unique, part-time position providing 1:1 ABA services to a specific client within a private school setting in the Kaimuki area.
- Schedule: Part-time, under 20 hours per week. 9am - 1:45pm on M, T, TH, F.
- Setting: All work will be performed at the client's school. This role does not involve work at our Kailua clinic.
- Contingency: This position is tied to a specific client. If this client ends services, you will be given the option to transfer to a role in our clinic, though hours and schedules would differ from this school-based position.
What Makes This Role Different?
- Structure & Support That Actually Helps You Succeed: You’ll have clear protocols, consistent supervision from your BCBA, and regular feedback to help you thrive.
- Independent & Collaborative School Setting: You will serve as the primary AAB professional on campus, implementing care 1:1. You will collaborate closely and professionally with school staff, teachers, and your supervising BCBA to ensure programmatic consistency and success.
- Opportunities to Grow — Without Guesswork: Our competency-based pay system gives you clear steps to earn raises. Many of our team members go on to join our SIT (Supervisor in Training) program or take on leadership roles.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You…
- Are dedicated to your learner — tailoring your approach, staying fully engaged, and always keeping the child’s needs front and center.
- Bring a positive attitude and resilience — even on the hard days.
- Have a strong professional work ethic — punctual, ethical, consistent, and dependable (especially important in a school setting).
- Communicate clearly and work well with a team — you’re the kind of person your BCBA and school partners can count on.
- Are open to feedback and continuous learning — and eager to apply what you learn right away.
This Role May Not Be a Fit If You…
- Prefer a low-structure or low-demand setting.
- Want minimal supervision or limited team interaction.
- Aren’t interested in ongoing learning, feedback, and skill development.
Your Day-to-Day
- Work 1:1 with an autistic child in a private school setting.
- Implement ABA treatment plans under the guidance of your BCBA.
- Collect data, update graphs, and adjust based on feedback.
- Collaborate daily with your supervising BCBA and school staff, share insights, and refine your approach.
Compensation & Benefits
- RBT Certified: $25/hr - $35/hr
- Non-Certified (Training Rate): $20/hr
- Insurance & Protections: Liability, disability, and worker’s comp
- Referral Bonus: Up to $500 for new team members you refer
Requirements
