The Two-Year-Old Preschool Teacher creates a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for toddlers as they explore independence, language, and social skills. This role blends daily care routines with engaging, play-based learning opportunities tailored to the developmental needs of two-year-olds. The teacher supports emotional regulation, fosters curiosity, collaborates with co-teachers, and builds strong family partnerships to help each child thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Care & Classroom Management
- Provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Manage daily routines including toileting, diapering, handwashing, meals, and rest time.
- Document care activities (meals, naps, toileting) and share at least one daily photo with families via Brightwheel.
- Support children in regulating emotions and navigating social interactions with calm, positive strategies.
- Ensure smooth transitions throughout the day, including group time and rest time.
- Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
Curriculum & Educational Engagement
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons across early literacy, math, sensory play, art, and music.
- Use interactive, play-based strategies to spark curiosity and encourage problem-solving.
- Provide open-ended materials to support independence and self-expression.
- Guide behavior with consistent, age-appropriate expectations.
- Collaborate with co-teachers to align routines and classroom standards.
- Keep the classroom organized, engaging, and inviting for toddlers.
Leadership & Family Collaboration
- Mentor aides and floaters to support smooth daily operations.
- Build positive relationships with families through Brightwheel updates, daily communication, and scheduled conferences.
- Encourage family involvement and strengthen the home-to-school connection.
Compliance & Professional Growth
- Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies.
- Complete required annual training hours and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Maintain teacher-to-child ratios and provide constant supervision.
- Limit personal phone use to breaks and non-instructional times.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or related field.
- 2–3 years of experience working with toddlers or young preschoolers.
- Completion of background checks and fingerprint clearance.
- Strong communication, documentation, and observation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and confident in high-energy classroom settings.
Preferred

- Dependable and punctual with reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Pay: $18.00 – $20.00/hour (based on education and experience)
