Estimator

All 5’s Construction is seeking Estimators to join our team in Las Vegas, NV!

The Estimator will be responsible for the estimating and logistics coordination with operations for all self-perform concrete opportunities in Las Vegas. The Estimator reports to Directors of Preconstruction and takes project specific direction from Lead Estimator assigned to a project.


To perform this role successfully, the ideal candidate:

• Assembles concrete estimates including:
  • Reviewing all contract documents including structural, architectural, civil, landscape, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans along with specifications and soils reports.
  • Preparing quantity surveys for concrete and concrete related items.
  • Contact concrete suppliers and receive quotations for required strengths of concrete.
  • Contact the form suppliers and obtain quotations for systems in cooperation with Operations team assigned to project.
  • Prepare the Concrete General Conditions in cooperation with Operations team and Project Lead Estimator.
  • Contact lumber suppliers and receive quotations for current lumber and plywood pricing.
  • Contact Crane and Concrete pumping vendors to receive quotations for equipment.
• Prepares preliminary estimate and meets with Operations team for their input on production rates and formwork systems.
• Prepares the concrete estimate, including labor productions, equipment productions, materials, and subcontractor pricing ready for the Lead Estimator and Director of Preconstruction assigned to the project, review, and approval.
• For successful projects, finalizes estimate in job-cost format ready for insertion into project accounting system to track actual production rates.
• Maintains and updates cost/production history database as related to concrete work.
• Maintains concrete database within estimating program system.
• Monitors weekly labor reports and communicates with Operations to understand cause of any variances from estimate.
• Works with the Yard and Operations personnel to manage concrete equipment.
• Obtains leads and communicates new subcontract concrete opportunities to Director of Preconstruction.
• Attends the annual world of concrete and other forums to obtain and bring innovation into the company.
• Performs all estimating tasks and other tasks not listed here, as required and assigned.

We trust that you have:

• 1-5 years of experience in Estimating or a Project Engineer role with preconstruction exposure.
• Experience with concrete projects or a different self-perform trade.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Fluency in reading, quantifying, and analyzing construction drawings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
