Responsibilities
- Provide attentive pet care by feeding, watering, and monitoring animals throughout their stay
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and grooming tasks
- Handle animals with gentle restraint techniques, ensuring their safety and comfort during routine procedures
- Assist with pet boarding and pet sitting services, ensuring each animal’s individual needs are met
- Support animal behavior assessments and help implement basic training or enrichment activities
- Perform outdoor work such as walking dogs, cleaning outdoor kennels, and supervising playtime in secure outdoor spaces
- Uphold facility standards by sanitizing equipment, bedding, and common areas to promote a healthy environment
- Engage with clients professionally, providing updates on their pets’ well-being and addressing any questions or concerns with excellent customer service skills
- Collaborate with team members during heavy lifting tasks like moving supplies or large animals using proper techniques
Experience
- Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician background is highly desirable
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal handling enhances your ability to connect with pets effectively
- Kennel experience or working in a pet boarding facility provides valuable insight into daily operations
- Skills in animal restraint, pet grooming, and animal behavior management are beneficial
- Outdoor work experience helps you comfortably manage activities like walking dogs or cleaning outdoor enclosures
