What are the responsibilities and job description for the Signal Integrity Engineer position at ALKU?
Signal & Power Integrity Engineer
Background:
Seeking an experienced Signal & Power Integrity Engineer to drive analysis and optimization of next-generation high-speed interfaces including LPDDR5X, PCIe Gen7, and UCIe 64G. The role extends into advanced power delivery network (PDN) design, simulation, and validation, ensuring system-level signal and power integrity for cutting-edge hardware platforms.
Project:
Work on high-performance system and board-level designs supporting multi-gigabit signaling and complex PDN architectures. Collaborate closely with cross-functional design, layout, and validation teams to achieve optimal performance, reliability, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive signal integrity (SI) modeling, simulation, and validation including extractions, channel analysis, and eye diagram characterization.
• Conduct power integrity (PI) simulations and extractions for high-speed interfaces to ensure robust voltage delivery and noise margins.
• Develop and analyze package and board-level PDN models, assessing impedance and transient response across frequency domains.
• Define and optimize decoupling strategies, balancing SI and PI constraints to meet system-level performance goals.
• Generate design guidelines and best practices for layout, stack-up design, and decoupling implementation.
• Collaborate with hardware and layout teams to validate simulation results through lab correlation and root-cause analysis.
Qualifications:
• Proven background in both signal and power integrity engineering, with hands-on experience in system-level design and optimization.
• Proficiency with industry-standard SI/PI tools such as HFSS, Sigrity, ADS, PowerSI, SIwave, AEDT, or HSPICE.
• Deep understanding of high-speed standards including DDR (up to LPDDR5X), PCIe (Gen5–Gen7), and UCIe (up to 64G).
• Familiarity with PDN design best practices, target impedance analysis, and decoupling network design.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
