Senior Lead Packaging Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Lead Packaging Engineer to lead large-scale medical device packaging initiatives. This role will focus on transforming packaging systems for orthopedic products, including knee and hip portfolios, within a highly matrixed, global organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end packaging projects for medical device products, ensuring alignment with timelines, budget, and regulatory requirements
- Drive packaging system transformations for knee and hip product lines
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across the US, EU, and UK, ensuring effective communication and project execution
- Partner with material suppliers to support PFAS implementation and develop long-term packaging solutions (2028–2029 and beyond)
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, regulatory, and operations teams
- Navigate material selection and development specific to medical device packaging requirements
- Ensure project risks, dependencies, and milestones are proactively managed and communicated
Qualifications
- Strong background in medical device packaging (materials, design, and development)
- Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
- Ability to balance technical packaging expertise with project management leadership
- Experience working with global teams and stakeholders
