Process Chemical / Mechanical Engineer – Owner's Representative (Green Card or US Citizen Only)
Background
Our client is seeking a Process Chemical / Mechanical Engineer to serve as an Owner's Representative supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing projects in Boise, Idaho. This individual will act on behalf of the client to review engineering designs, specifications, construction packages, and vendor documentation while ensuring facility utility systems meet operational, safety, and manufacturing requirements. The ideal candidate will possess experience with process utility systems, chemical distribution, specialty gases, ultrapure water systems, and industrial facility infrastructure within highly technical manufacturing environments.
Project
The engineer will support semiconductor facility expansion, tool installation, and infrastructure upgrade projects by reviewing design packages, specifications, P&IDs, layouts, equipment plans, submittals, RFIs, and construction documents prepared by engineering firms and contractors. The role will focus on process utility systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including ultrapure water, wastewater, process chemicals, specialty gases, exhaust systems, waste collection systems, pumps, storage tanks, and associated piping infrastructure. This individual will work closely with client stakeholders, engineering firms, equipment vendors, and construction teams to ensure designs align with client standards and operational requirements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 2 years of experience supporting chemical or mechanical facility systems
- Experience with ultrapure water (UPW), chemical distribution, specialty gas distribution, process piping, exhaust systems, plumbing, wastewater systems, pumps, and storage tanks
- 2 years of engineering design project delivery experience
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
- Experience with engineering calculations, equipment sizing, component selection, and specification development
- Ability to coordinate with clients, engineering firms, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to drive document reviews and project execution
Nice to Have
- Semiconductor fabrication facility, cleanroom, or advanced manufacturing experience
- 1 year of experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment through design, installation, integration, operations, or maintenance
- Experience with process chemical systems and specialty gas delivery systems
- Experience serving as an Owner's Representative or owner's engineering resource
- Experience reviewing P&IDs, utility drawings, equipment layouts, and process flow documentation
- Experience reviewing vendor submittals, RFIs, and construction packages
- AutoCAD proficiency
- EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Field experience supporting construction, commissioning, startup, or facility operations
- Experience coordinating directly with equipment manufacturers and facility stakeholders
- Passion for industrial facilities, infrastructure projects, and semiconductor manufacturing environments
