Field Technicians at Alkane are responsible for safe execution, reliable equipment, and professional customer interaction. This role requires discipline, judgment, and accountability in the field—often with limited supervision.

What You’re Responsible For
▪ Service, maintain, and troubleshoot natural gas and diesel-powered equipment at customer sites
▪ Safely operate and drive company vehicles in varied conditions
▪ Maintain assigned truck, tools, and parts inventory in a ready state
▪ Safely transport trailer-mounted generators and support equipment
▪ Accurately document work performed, parts used, and equipment condition
▪ Follow Alkane and customer safety requirements without exception
▪ Maintain required certifications and properly use all PPE
▪ Support team operations as needed

What You Will Bring
- 3 or more years’ experience in mechanical type work.
- Possess and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) and valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and participate in the company’s random drug and alcohol program.
- Possess a functioning smartphone less than 2 years old with GPS and ability to install business applications.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays on a rotating on-call schedule.
- Understanding of proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools.
- Possess a “safety first” attitude.
- Possess a strong work-ethic and the ability to show up ready to work.
- Possess good character, professional appearance, and positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially in diagnosing and resolving issues.
- Ability to use computers for data logging and troubleshooting and ability and willingness to learn software used to troubleshoot issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with teammates, vendors, contractors, and customers.
- Ability to read, understand, and comprehend service manuals, owner’s manuals, written procedures, and other company documentation.
- Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and concisely.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the following physical activities: working outside, standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, or reaching, sitting, stooping, crouching, working at elevated locations and platforms and crawling.
- Ability to work in remote locations in difficult environmental conditions and respond to after-hours call outs.
- Ability to work long hours in all weather conditions.
