Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of hair styling services including braiding, hair extensions, hair coloring, and hair threading to meet each client’s unique preferences.
- Provide expert advice on hair care routines, product recommendations, and maintenance tips to ensure long-lasting results.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas, tools, and equipment in accordance with industry regulations.
- Utilize salon software such as MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client records management, and retail sales tracking.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by engaging with clients professionally, understanding their needs, and communicating clearly throughout their visit.
- Upsell retail products like hair care items, makeup, nail care products, and accessories to enhance the client experience and increase sales.
- Assist with front desk duties including appointment bookings, client check-ins, and managing the flow of daily operations.
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hairstyling, barbering (including straight razor use), eyelash extensions, and other beauty services.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with skills in hair styling, coloring, extensions, braiding, and barbering techniques such as straight razor shaving.
- Knowledge of salon software systems like MINDBODY or similar platforms for scheduling and retail management.
- Strong understanding of sanitation protocols and cosmetology licensing requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with clients and team members.
- Familiarity with retail math principles and upselling strategies to maximize sales opportunities.
- Ability to perform detailed work including hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care services.
- Experience working with diverse hair types and styles while maintaining a professional appearance and attitude.
