Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily recreational, social, educational, and group activities for residents.
- Encourage resident participation and provide one-on-one engagement for those unable to attend group activities.
- Prepare activity materials, decorate event spaces, and assist with special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings.
- Transport residents to and from activities as needed while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members through compassionate communication.
- Observe and report changes in resident participation, behavior, or overall well-being to the Activities Director.
- Maintain attendance records and documentation of resident participation.
- Ensure activity areas and supplies remain clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Follow all facility policies and procedures, including infection control and resident safety guidelines.
- Assist with other departmental duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in activities, recreation, customer service, healthcare, or long-term care is preferred but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Positive attitude with a genuine passion for working with the elderly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and assist residents as needed during activities.
- Must pass all required background checks and pre-employment screenings.
