SUMMARY The Director of Quality and Education provides direction, oversight, and integration of the organization’s Quality, Regulatory, and Educational programs. This role directs the development and execution of Alive’s Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, ensures regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal standards, and advances organizational learning through comprehensive education and training initiatives. This position fosters a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement by aligning quality outcomes with innovative education programs for staff, students, providers, patients, and families. The Director collaborates across departments to ensure compliance, support survey readiness, enhance professional development, and drive evidence-based care delivery.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Quality & Regulatory Leadership
- Lead the organization’s QAPI program, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and accreditation standards (CMS, OIG, TJC, HIPAA, state/federal).
- Direct regulatory readiness, audits, corrective action plans, and survey follow-up.
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other performance improvement activities.
- Oversee service recovery monitoring, infection prevention practices, and family satisfaction survey processes.
- Partner with IT leadership to optimize data systems supporting quality reporting and outcomes measurement.
- Design, implement, and oversee onboarding, continuing education, and professional development programs.
- Ensure educational programs meet accreditation requirements for continuing education credits.
- Expand the reach and reputation of Alive through innovative training strategies and community education.
- Provide direct teaching, presentations, and mentorship as appropriate.
- Assess training needs organization-wide and develop regulatory compliance education tools and resources.
- Partner with executive leadership to set strategic goals for quality and education.
- Support a culture of compliance, continuous learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Develop productive relationships with internal teams, regulators, accrediting bodies, and external educational partners.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Active RN license required.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years hospice and palliative care experience required.
- CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in healthcare quality, compliance, or education.
