About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Telemetry Travel RN to join an acute-care team in New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to independently manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring and IV medication management.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced acute-care RN, and first-time travelers with strong specialty experience may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients in an Advanced Telemetry/acute-care setting.
- Perform thorough patient assessments and recognize changes in cardiac and clinical status.
- Continuously monitor telemetry and promptly identify and respond to abnormal rhythms.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac-related treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Safely manage Cardizem (diltiazem) drips and insulin infusions for hyperglycemia.
- Monitor patients receiving phenobarbital on telemetry and recognize potential adverse effects or changes in condition.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and patient responses to treatment.
- Escalate significant changes in patient condition to the appropriate medical team.
- Float to Concord Hospital-Laconia when requested based on staffing needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of acute-care nursing experience in the relevant specialty.
- Advanced Telemetry experience is required.
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred; strong first-time travelers may be considered.
- Active NH RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission.
- Current:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac-monitoring skills.
- Experience managing Cardizem and insulin drips.
- Comfortable caring for patients receiving phenobarbital on telemetry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required.
- Previous charge RN or leadership experience.
- Experience in a high-acuity acute-care/telemetry environment.
Submission Requirements
Candidates must provide:
- Up-to-date resume documenting 2 years of acute-care/specialty experience.
- Resume must clearly document travel nursing experience, when applicable.
- Two recent specialty-specific Charge RN/Manager references.
- Skills checklist matching the Advanced Telemetry specialty.
- Active NH or Compact RN license.
- Nursys report.
- License verification showing all active RN licenses.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of submission.
