We’re looking for an experienced Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to work at our Scottsdale clinic.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities
- Intake & Assessment: Conduct behavioral health intakes, gather clinical and social history, screen for risk factors, and document findings.
- Patient-Therapist Matching: Collaborate with the clinical team to match patients with therapists based on needs and preferences. Schedule initial appointments and orient patients to services.
- Care Coordination: Assist general outpatient patients with referrals and coordination of care across providers and community resources.
- Patient Advocacy & Education: Educate patients on behavioral health services, advocate for their needs, and promote self-advocacy and stigma reduction.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide support during in-clinic crises, follow protocols, ensure safety planning, and document interventions.
- Team Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with therapists, psychiatric and medical providers, and case managers. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Other additional related job duties may be required to meet the needs of service participants/patients/clients .
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum one year behavioral health experience required. Crisis intervention and SMI experience preferred.
- BHT Certificate preferred
- Ability to learn and apply treatment protocols for Spravato, TMS, will require the incumbent to obtain appropriate certifications.
- Familiarity with medical front office procedures preferred.
- Maintains strict adherence to HIPAA and demonstrates ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and empathy.
- Current CPR/First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency using software and technology including Microsoft Office Suite and EHR (NexGen preferred).
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
