About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Real Estate Attorney to join our team, where you will play a key role in reviewing and clearing title issues, ensuring legal compliance, and helping to facilitate seamless closings for our clients.
Responsibilities
- This is an in-office position, and you will be expected to work from our office during regular business hours. This role requires an on-site presence to ensure effective collaboration with the team and our clients.
- Advise clients on various aspects of real estate law, including residential and commercial transactions, title issues, and more.
- Draft and review legal documents (i.e. deed preparation, power of attorney, trust/LLC documents). This will require an LLC be set up in your name.
- Conduct due diligence, title searches, and review contracts and legal instruments to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Develop your own book of business through referral sources and community outreach.
- Collaborate with internal teams and underwriters to ensure successful outcomes in real estate transactions.
- Keep clients informed of progress and updates, maintaining a high level of communication and customer service.
- Teach approved courses for continuing education for our real estate clients and write new courses for approval.
- Assist the sales team by attending meetings, events, and presentations to help grow client relationships.
- Obtain title insurance agency license within first full year of employment.
- Become proficient with various internal platforms and software tools used within the organization.
- Set goals in accordance with company objectives and track progress.
- Be flexible and available to attend to matters that may arise outside of regular business hours. This may include evenings or weekends to attend industry meetings/events and/or handle time-sensitive issues.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Ohio.
- 2 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on residential or commercial.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of real estate law, including title issues, and local and state regulations.
- Excellent legal writing and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Well organized, flexible, coachable, problem-solving skills.
