About the Employer
Alisal Union School District is a vibrant elementary school district located in Salinas, in the heart of Monterey County, one of California’s most culturally rich and agriculturally significant regions. Situated in the Salinas Valley, Alisal is approximately 20 minutes from the Monterey coast, 50 minutes from Santa Cruz, and about 45 minutes from San Jose, 90 minutes San Francisco, 90 minutes Paso Robles Wine Country, offering access to coastal living, outdoor recreation, and regional amenities without the congestion or cost of a major metropolitan area. We serve a predominantly Latino community, many of whose families are deeply connected to the agricultural workforce that sustains the nation’s food system. Our schools are rooted in community, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging, and our work extends beyond academics to supporting the whole child and the whole family. At Alisal, our mission is grounded in equity, opportunity, and human-centered leadership. We believe schools are not only places of learning, but anchors for community growth, stability, and hope. Our staff are mission-driven educators and professionals who are committed to creating inclusive, supportive environments where students and adults alike can thrive. Alisal is a district in transformation, investing intentionally in people, systems, and leadership to strengthen outcomes for students and improve the employee experience. For individuals seeking meaningful work, strong community connection, and the opportunity to make a visible and lasting impact, Alisal offers a place where leadership matters, relationships matter, and the work truly makes a difference.
