What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Housekeeping position at ALISAL PROPERTIES INC?
Alisal, a luxury 10,500 private acre working Ranch and Resort in the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Supervisor to join our Housekeeping Team.
This full-time position is responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeper in directing the housekeeping program at Alisal to ensure all guest units and public areas are kept in a clean, orderly, and attractive condition at all times. Supervising 20-30 employees depending on business levels at any given time and completing the following essential duties: inspecting guest rooms and public spaces to verify cleanliness, maintenance standards, and brand expectations are consistently met. Training, coaching, and holding Employees accountable to performance standards, providing real-time feedback and collaborating with Executive Housekeeper to document performance as needed. Monitoring room status and communicating effectively with Front Office and Facilities teams regarding readiness, priorities, and service issues. Identifying maintenance/safety concerns or hazards, submitting work orders through designated property ticketing system, and following up to ensure timely resolution. The person in this role is also responsible for coordinating staffing, scheduling support, and maintaining productivity standards. Assisting with inventory duties and recording and tracking lost and found articles. Proactively establishing departmental safety procedures, monitoring proper chemical usage, and enforcing compliance with all department/company protocols. The Supervisor, Housekeeping will also complete any other duties as required and assigned and fulfill administrative office and clerical work to promote the successful operation of the department.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior supervisory experience in housekeeping or hospitality, hotel/resort a plus.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly desired to effectively communicate with staff that only speaks Spanish.
• Working knowledge and familiarity with CA labor laws.
• Computer literate (Host, Outlook, Microsoft, Excel).
• Desire to establish outstanding, authentic, and memorable interactions with internal and external guests.
• Integrity, dependability, and adaptability.
• Skilled at multi-tasking, heightened attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and organization.
• Commitment to confidentiality.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull minimum 50 lbs.
• Able to work on site and to stand, sit, walk, and move continuously for duration of shift.
• Ability to work indoors, occasionally outdoors and in varying temperatures.
REQUIREMENTS
