About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our team in New Bern, North Carolina. In this role, you'll lead complex tax engagements, provide strategic tax planning and advisory services, mentor and develop team members, and play a key role in the continued growth of the practice. For the right individual, this position offers a clear path to partnership.

You'll join a well-established practice with the opportunity to work alongside experienced partners, build lasting client relationships, and help shape the future of the firm. To support qualified candidates relocating to the New Bern area, Aline offers a relocation package of up to $20,000.

In this role, you will:

• Prepare and review complex tax engagements for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and other business entities.
• Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services tailored to each client's financial and business objectives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients.
• Mentor, develop, and review the work of tax professionals while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Research complex tax issues and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Manage multiple client engagements while maintaining exceptional quality and responsiveness.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support business development initiatives.
• Collaborate with partners and firm leadership on strategic initiatives and the continued growth of the practice.

What We're Looking For:

• CPA or EA license required.
• 9 years of public accounting tax experience.
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, corporate, trust, and multi-state tax returns.
• Experience providing tax planning, consulting, and advisory services.
• Proven leadership experience managing client engagements and mentoring staff.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and client service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in a long-term career with partnership potential.
