Job Summary
The Milieu staff member reports directly to the Milieu Lead and plays a vital role in maintaining the structure, safety, and therapeutic environment of the Lodge. This position supports guests in their day-to-day routine and provides redirection and support as needed to ensure a secure, respectful, and recovery-focused atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the physical safety and confidentiality of all guests at Alina Lodge.
- Monitor guest attendance, location, and compliance with the Lodge’s rules and expectations.
- Report any unusual mental or physical behavior to the appropriate clinical staff or supervisor.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies until additional support arrives.
- Manage daily routines and support facility operations.
- Maintain a visible and engaged presence to redirect and report inappropriate behavior in a professional and objective manner.
- Participate in and support lectures, sessions, meetings, and staff education.
- Listen and provide informal support to guests, directing concerns to appropriate clinical staff.
- Assist with the admission process for new guests, including room preparation, luggage handling, and orientation.
- Conduct non-invasive guest searches under the guidance of the Nursing department.
- Monitor and ensure completion of guest chores; train guests in cleaning and job responsibilities.
- Issue recreational and cleaning equipment as needed.
- Report facility issues to maintenance and supervisors.
- Ensure all buildings and grounds are safe and secure.
- Assist with room setups and breakdowns for events and programming.
- Lift and transport items (e.g., furniture, luggage) as needed (up to 50 lbs).
- Remain active and on foot for extended periods, with frequent walking.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and drive when necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director or Milieu Lead.
Qualifications & Experience
- Background in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in therapeutic or clinical settings is helpful but not required.
- Experience in substance use recovery or treatment environments is desirable.
- Personal experience in recovery is welcomed and respected.
- Educational background or life experience that supports successful job performance.
Physical Demands
This role requires the ability to walk, bend, stand, climb stairs, drive, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Prolonged periods on your feet and walking across the facility are expected. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
