Role Description
This is a full-time, virtual role for a Freight Agent. The Freight Agent will be responsible for coordinating shipments, managing carrier relationships, negotiating rates, booking loads, as well as creating new relationships and maintaining consistent communication with clients and carriers. Additional responsibilities include tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery, resolving shipment-related issues, and maintaining accurate records of transactions.
Qualifications
- Experience in logistics, freight management, and transportation processes
- Strong negotiation, communication, and customer service skills
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and related tools
- Problem-solving skills to resolve shipment issues and ensure timely delivery
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Familiarity with carrier network management and DOT compliance regulations is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred
