The Opportunity
AlignityX is partnering with a leading enterprise technology organization to identify a Senior Consultant, Technical to join its Public Sector consulting team in McLean, Virginia.
This is an opportunity for a technically strong, client-facing consultant who thrives at the intersection of technology, problem-solving, and customer impact. You will work directly with customers to understand complex business challenges, design thoughtful technical solutions, and lead implementations from discovery through delivery.
This is not a role where you simply hand requirements to an engineering team. You will be close to the technology, close to the customer, and accountable for helping turn complex needs into solutions that work.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Consultant, you will take ownership of key workstreams throughout the full implementation lifecycle while serving as a trusted technical partner to customers.
You will:
Lead technical workstreams across complex enterprise implementations
Partner directly with customers to understand business challenges, requirements, and desired outcomes
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Design, configure, test, and deploy enterprise applications
Work with integrations, APIs, data structures, and enterprise systems
Participate in application architecture and solution design
Lead and contribute to Agile delivery activities, including requirements gathering, sprint planning, testing, and deployment
Identify and resolve technical challenges throughout implementation
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Provide guidance and mentorship to consultants and other team members
Help customers build the knowledge and capabilities needed to successfully manage and expand their solutions
Build strong, trusted relationships with customers throughout the engagement
Contribute to best practices and continuous improvement across the consulting organization
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines technical depth with strong consulting instincts.
You should be comfortable walking into a complex customer environment, asking thoughtful questions, understanding what is really happening beneath the surface, and translating that understanding into an executable technical solution.
Successful candidates will bring:
Experience in technical consulting, enterprise software implementation, solutions consulting, or a similar client-facing technical role
Experience delivering complex technology solutions from requirements through implementation
Strong understanding of application development and enterprise technology concepts
Experience working with APIs, integrations, data modeling, or relational databases
Experience working within Agile or iterative delivery environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams
Confidence communicating with technical teams, business stakeholders, and customer leadership
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to independently own deliverables while collaborating effectively across a broader team
A track record of building credibility and trusted relationships with customers
Experience with low-code platforms, business process management (BPM), workflow automation, enterprise application platforms, or digital transformation initiatives is highly relevant.
Direct experience with the specific platform is helpful, but we are also interested in technically strong consultants coming from adjacent enterprise technology environments.

Location & Travel
This position is based in McLean, Virginia and requires an onsite presence five days per week.
Candidates should also be comfortable with up to approximately 20% travel, depending on customer and project needs.
