$260,000 – $420,000

A leading international law firm is seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing private equity sponsors, public companies, privately held businesses, and other corporate clients in sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions.

Ideal Background

• 3–5 years of mergers & acquisitions, private equity, or general corporate transactional experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience representing private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, public companies, and privately held businesses in complex transactions

• Experience handling acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and other strategic transactions

• Experience drafting and negotiating merger agreements, purchase agreements, disclosure schedules, ancillary transaction documents, and related corporate agreements

• Experience conducting and managing legal due diligence and coordinating transaction workstreams

• Experience advising clients on corporate governance and general corporate matters is preferred

• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to manage sophisticated transactions while working directly with clients and opposing counsel

• Excellent academic credentials

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

• Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted
