A premier global law firm is seeking a Business Restructuring & Reorganization Associate Attorney to join its New York office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing debtors, secured lenders, creditors' committees, distressed investors, private equity sponsors, and strategic buyers in sophisticated restructuring, insolvency, and special situations matters.

Ideal Background

• 3–6 years of business restructuring, bankruptcy, insolvency, or finance experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience representing debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, lenders, private equity sponsors, distressed investors, official committees, and strategic acquirers

• Experience handling Chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court restructurings, distressed acquisitions, recapitalizations, liability management transactions, and special situations financings

• Experience drafting and negotiating restructuring support agreements, debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing documents, credit agreements, asset purchase agreements, forbearance agreements, and related transaction documents

• Experience advising clients regarding bankruptcy proceedings, distressed M&A transactions, creditor rights, financing strategies, and insolvency-related litigation issues

• Experience managing sophisticated restructuring transactions from due diligence through closing while coordinating multiple stakeholders

• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage complex restructuring matters while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

• New York bar admission required or ability to become admitted
