Summary: The Senior Program Manager, Substation Delivery will be responsible for end-to-end execution of substation infrastructure, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery aligned with Aligned’s long-term growth objectives.

This position will provide consistent oversight on schedule delays, inconsistent oversight, and fragmented coordination—by providing centralized ownership and operational discipline across engineering, permitting, procurement, and construction functions.

The Senior Program Manager, Substation Delivery will play a pivotal role in resolving these challenges while enabling Aligned to scale faster, mitigate risk, and uphold operational excellence

Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for on time, on budget coordination and delivery of all portfolio substation projects, accountable to Platform Execution project management
• Define and maintain a clear RACI matrix across all stakeholders: procurement, engineering, permitting, and construction
• Align dry utility execution with broader business goals including speed-to-market and cost-efficiency
• Establish a dedicated delivery team with clear ownership, escalation paths, and accountability
• Implement robust real-time field monitoring processes to proactively resolve issues
• Provide centralized leadership and visibility into project performance and contractor execution
• Strengthening QA/QC programs through tools (e.g., Cx Alloy), standardized checklists, and pre-commissioning protocols
• Partner with third-party validators to ensure compliance, safety, and regulatory standards
• Use Aligned’s quarterly reporting platform to track QA/QC metrics, safety performance, and milestones
• Streamline permitting processes, design coordination, and easement approvals
• Develop strong relationships with utility companies and local jurisdictions to minimize approval timelines
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely sourcing of owner-furnished equipment (OFE)
• Forecast long-leading item risks and ensure alignment with project delivery schedules
• Conduct regular tactical meetings with engineering, procurement, and construction leaders
• Address interdependencies early and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle
• Collaborate with Commercial, Strategy, and Energy teams to support accurate scoping and resource forecasting
• Establish clear real-time tracking for substation and contractor performance
• Resolve unsecured easements and improve coordination of field activities
• Optimize execution of complex, multi-phase utility projects
• Reduce commissioning and QA/QC bottlenecks across all active sites
  
  

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Identify, forecast, and secure appropriate staffing resources to support the successful delivery of substation projects across Aligned’s portfolio, scaling the team as needed based on project volume and complexity.
• Provide clear direction and performance expectations to internal team members and external partners, ensuring alignment with project milestones and quality standards.
• Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
