Align Technology, Inc. (the maker of Invisalign® aligners) is looking for a Research Scientist Intern. The Research Scientist Intern will be responsible for assisting the Emerging Technology team. He/she will work closely on individual research projects focusing on new electrochemical biosensor development while assisting ongoing research and development projects. The position is located at Align’s corporate headquarters in San Jose, California, and is for a full-time role starting in the summer 2026.

Collaborate with a cross-functional team in product development and test plans.
Participate in weekly project update meetings and present data, findings, and conclusions to the team.
Work in a fast-paced environment and meet critical deadlines.
In this role, you’ll need …
To be a student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemistry, Biophysics, Bioengineering, or related scientific disciplines.
Hands-on experience with laboratory benchtop testing.
Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a technical nature.
Excellent problem-solving skills, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members.
Strong interpersonal, oral, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to present findings concisely and effectively.
Familiarity with software packages for data processing and analysis (e.g. MATLAB, Python, Minitab, Excel).
