Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting during procedures, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and that all necessary instruments and supplies are available. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments. The position will also require a role in the clinical side as a medical assistant working with our providers and patients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures, adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
- Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations by passing instruments and suctioning.
- Collect and document patient data, including vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate medical records.
- Conduct thorough cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments post-procedure to maintain infection control standards.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation and data management.
- Monitor patients’ conditions pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, providing critical care support as required.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and best practices in surgical technology.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program is required.
- Previous OR experience is essential.
- Familiarity with acute care settings and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments is crucial.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis skills related to patient care outcomes.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques is required.
