Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, and mechanical systems according to schematics and HVAC design plans
- Support senior technicians in troubleshooting electrical diagnostics, equipment repair, and system failures using hand tools, ohmmeters, and welding equipment
- Help perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment, including air conditioning units, building automation systems, electrical systems, and property mechanical systems
- Participate in system repairs involving plumbing, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting
- Aid in the inspection of mechanical systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards such as EPA regulations
- Support field service activities by maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner
- Communicate effectively with customers during service calls to explain work performed and ensure high levels of customer service
Experience
- Construction experience or prior work as a service technician in HVAC/R or property maintenance preferred
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and building automation systems is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with HVAC system installation, repair, and maintenance including electrical systems and refrigeration technology
- Mechanical knowledge related to boilers, appliances repair, welding, and general equipment troubleshooting
- Ability to operate hand tools, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other diagnostic tools confidently
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus
- Strong customer service skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving and safety compliance
