2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $65,197 Mid. $76,947 Max. $88,699 (Based on previous experience)
Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.
Salary is based on 187 days. If working less than 187 days, the salary will be less.

Primary Purpose
- To ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and payroll reporting to TRS.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree required (may be waived in lieu of experience)
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point required
- Five (5) years payroll experience required
- Experience in school district payroll function preferred
Management Responsibilities
- Timely and accurately reports all required TRS reporting on a monthly basis.
- Timely responds to all TRS inquires.
- Assist with accurate preparation and distribution of W-2's each year.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll payments to all employees each payroll.
- Review/key action sheets for new employees with a change in status and distribute to payroll specialists.
- Review/perform various payroll loads as needed.
- Ensure all payroll documents are stored according to District policy.
- Ensure that all payroll exception reports are reviewed between edit and live processing.
- Review wage levies, child support payments and other deductions by payroll.
- Assist employees promptly ad courteously with any payroll questions or problems.
- Update and maintain all payroll procedures.
- Assist with annual audit process, including preparation of various audit schedules/workpapers.
- Assist with coordinating the processing of payroll with MIS, Human Resources, Risk Management and ancillary departments.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
