2026-2027 School Improvement Interventionist – Math @ Instruction Department

Primary Purpose:

To support focused instructional initiatives for campus improvement plans, provide ongoing feedback and support for all campuses identified through data and accountability systems as needing support and or improvement. This position is federally funded for the specified school year.  Future funding is contingent upon the availability of federal funds.

Qualifications:                                                               

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

 

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction & subject matter in assigned position
  • Effective human relations, communication, and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of ESP, COGNOS systems
  • Knowledge of state and federal accountability systems
  • Adept at compiling and analyzing data
  • Strong organizational skills

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of successful teaching in the core academic subject area assigned
  • Three (3) years as a Specialist in the core academic subject area assigned

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Program Management

  • Collaborate with district ILT team to identify schools in need of support.
  • Conduct an analysis of campus data for each identified campus.
  • Coach campus intervention staff in the use of effective research based instructional strategies and methodologies.
  • Provide assistance/resources for campus personnel to meet the learning needs of students.
  • Assist campus staff in the planning for effective lesson delivery.
  • Meet and plan with campus (principal and ILT) to develop plan of support and assist with monitoring program effectiveness.
  • Serve as a liaison between principal, campus ILT and Central Office Instructional Support.
  • Train staff as appropriate to meet campus plan of action.
  • Facilitate collaborative planning/PLC as appropriate and/or requested.
  • Conduct campus walkthroughs and provide feedback to staff and administration.
  • Review and evaluates effectiveness of interventions.

 

Other

  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
  • Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Non-Supervisor Personnel.

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals

Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head

Lifting: Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (up to 35 pounds). May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (35-50 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Pay Grade: P1-0 

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $68,159 (Based on previous experience) 

Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.  

Salary is based on 197 days. If working less than 197 days, the salary will be less. 

 

 

Federal Funded position:  

The hourly rates listed above are subject to change depending on the funding allocated for the specific job you may be hired for. The funding for this position is federally funded for the current school year. Continuation of the position is contingent upon the availability of future funds.
