Primary Purpose:
To provide comprehensive high-quality support, training and services in the areas of functional behavioral assessment, positive behavior support plan development, verbal behavior assessment and behavioral consultation to address behavior needs of students in their least restrictive environment. The BCBA will conduct thorough behavioral evaluations and provide targeted, evidence-based interventions and strategies to campus teams.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree in education or a related field required
- Valid Board Certification in Behavior Analysis
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work with school and community populations
- Knowledge of best practices relate to Applied Behavior Analysis and the implementation of services
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience in Special Education, preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
- Complete Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA) and provide written reports to assist campus staff and ARD committees to improve student outcomes.
- Create and assist district and campus staff with the development of appropriate Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) including targeted strategies to improve behavior.
- Provide recommendations and behavior consultations to campus staff and teachers to improve student outcomes.
- Plan and provide services that are appropriate and consistent with behavior goals in the student’s individual education plan (IEP)
- Compile and analyze data with regard to individual student needs, ARD/IEP decisions to assist with programming recommendations in the school, community and home settings.
- Develop materials and provide resources, professional learning and coaching to administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals and parents/guardians in ABA, Crisis Management, verbal de-escalation, positive behavior supports and/or evidence-based strategies related to the needs of students.
- Manage the district’s TBSI Core Team roster by campus.
- Coordinate all districtwide de-escalation and restraint trainings, including purchasing and distributing required training materials and booklets, and ensuring district staff maintain current Trainer-of-Trainers (TOT) certification.
- Comply with federal, state and district guidelines.
Other
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and evaluate the performance of behavioral/Autism specialist(s) and behavior team paraprofessionals as assigned by the Director of Special Education in accordance with Board Policy and Procedures.
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Supervisor Personnel.

Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting

Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide or in-state travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $85,343 Mid. $100,378 Max. $115,415 (Based on previous experience)
Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.
Salary is based on 220 days. If working less than 220 days, the salary will be less.
