Job Summary:
We are looking for Home Health Aides to provide quality care to support individuals in their homes. We are looking for someone who has the desire to work in patient care, particularly with seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, monitoring their health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring any changes are communicated to the healthcare team.
- Provide personal care services such as catheter care, medication administration, and assistance with mobility using Hoyer lifts.
- Observe patients for any changes in condition or behavior and report findings accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness in the client’s living space including laundry and light housekeeping tasks.
- Document patient care activities accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Support clients with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care is provided.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred but not needed.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical documentation is essential but if you don't know anything involving that that's okay.
- CPR certification is required and can be provided here; additional certifications in hospice care or caregiving are a plus.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate record keeping is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor when interacting with clients.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving including lifting, cleaning, cooking, and laundry duties.
