What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabric R&D Intern position at ALICE OLIVIA?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fabric R&D Intern will provide support to aid in the seasonal material development process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Swatch Handling & Submit Organization
- Maintain core swatch archive
- Receive and price new selections
- Organize headers into their appropriate categories & file
- Send physical references & color palettes to suppliers
- Manage solid snip chart of SRS color references
- Scan selected headers & aid in assigning codes
Data Entry & Chart Upkeep
- Receiving Fabric Detail Sheets & updating charts
- Checking tracking received from suppliers to ensure accuracy
Miscellaneous Tasks
- Take fabric photos for design and merch visual decks
- Help steam/organize new garments for fashion week
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Education in textiles, design, product development, or marketing preferred
- Highly organized and excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, collaborative styles
- Resourceful self-starter who can work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), familiar in Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom)
POSITION DETAILS:
- Salary: $17.00/hour
- Hybrid: 3-5 days in office based on calendar
- Internship length: 3 months minimum
