Duties

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs, incorporating evidence-based practices such as applied behavior analysis and behavioral therapy.
• Design engaging lesson plans across core subjects including literacy and math, ensuring alignment with state standards.
• Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instructional delivery and facilitate interactive learning experiences for students.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement strategies and comprehensive behavior management techniques to create a safe and productive learning environment.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and other specialists to support students’ developmental progress and social skills.
• Conduct regular assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Provide mentorship and academic advising to students, fostering their independence and confidence in their abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification/license for special education.
• Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math, and educational technology tools.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, families, staff, and external professionals.
• Experience implementing IEPs, behavioral therapy techniques, and classroom management strategies.
• Experience co-teaching in an inclusion general education classroom.
