Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fleet Maintenance Mechanic specializing in Heavy Equipment. In this pivotal role, you will repair, service, and overall maintain a diverse fleet of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. Responsibilities
- Daily maintenance activities for heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers
- Coordinate repairs and diagnostics for diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC units, and electrical components
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues effectively
- Lead fabrication and welding projects to modify or repair equipment as needed
- Ensure adherence to safety standards during all maintenance procedures and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members
- Provide hands-on support with heavy lifting, tire service, alignment, and other mechanical tasks to maintain operational readiness
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dealership or heavy equipment maintenance with strong mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar/Diesel types of equipment
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics, welding (including soldering), fabrication, and the use of power tools
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance including brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, tire service, and transmission work
- Ability to perform detailed inspections using hand tools and diagnostic equipment to identify issues accurately
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs
