FUNCTION |
|
This position has direct responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the housing program during the overnight shift. Youth Counselors create and supervise a safe, affirming environment for residents to meet their needs and progress on goals. They provide one-on-one and group counseling, and oversee the functioning of the site. Youth Counselors must be organized and able to work and solve problems independently, and communicate effectively with supervisors. |

Training/Experience in youth social services required. |

TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS |

Computer knowledge and competent writing skills. |

QUALIFICATION NEEDED |
|
Must be highly organized and able to work independently. Experience working with adolescent/young adult population required. Knowledge of psychosocial needs of LGBTQ/homeless population is helpful. Experience in individual and group behavioral counseling. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays; this includes overnight shifts. Youth Counselors are required to remain awake for the entire duration of their shifts. Transgender & gender non-conforming people are encouraged to apply. Salary : $22
