Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Attorney role based in Orlando, FL. The Attorney will handle a criminal defense caseload from intake through resolution, including client consultations, case evaluations, and the development of individualized defense strategies. Daily responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting motions, briefs, and other court filings, negotiating with prosecutors, and representing clients at hearings, depositions, and trials. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues and support staff to prepare evidence, interview witnesses, and maintain accurate case documentation. The Attorney will also provide clear, informed legal advice to clients, manage deadlines, and ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law with specific experience or coursework in criminal law.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients, including risk assessment and strategy recommendations.
- Proficient in legal Research, including case law, statutes, regulations, and procedural rules relevant to criminal defense.
- Skilled in Negotiation with prosecutors and opposing counsel to pursue favorable plea agreements and settlements.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- Prior experience in criminal defense or as a prosecutor strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, including motion practice and courtroom presentation.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize workload, and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a commitment to client confidentiality and professional responsibility.
